ArtYards is a membership program designed to provide sustained support to artists and creators through affordable studio space and services, and by fostering opportunities for career development.

 

All prospective members must read and agree to these terms & conditions.

MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT 

Payment & Cancellation:

Our membership is an annual subscription billed monthly. The billing date is the 1st of every month. Your first payment will be prorated based on the number of days left in the current billing period. Payments can set-up through Paypal. All memberships are subject to a $5 signup fee and HST. Your membership will be activated immediately upon payment.

You can downgrade, upgrade or cancel your membership subscription at any time from ‘My Account’. If you cancel, your membership will be set to expire at the end of your current billing period. We will not refund any subscription fees already paid. Membership subscriptions do not automatically renew at the end of the subscription period.  Please contact info@juncyards.ca if you have any questions or issues regarding your membership subscription.

 

 

STUDIO USE AGREEMENT

ArtYards and JuncYards offers its members access to dedicated studio space in an open studio environment, with both short and long-term rental options. We are dedicated to creating an environment that encourages collaborative creation, meaningful connections, growth, and cultural exchange between emerging and established artists.

 

Studio Rental & Rates:

Studios are rented on a ‘first come, first served’ basis and are subject to availability. Members should come prepared with their own necessary art materials.

 

Studio rentals include: 24/7 Secure Access (via Kisi App), Utilities, Free WiFi, Storage, Public Washroom, Lounge/Common Area, Free Parking 

 

Payment & Cancellation:

For Basic & Plus members, studio rental payments are made in full at the time of booking. Payments can be made with PayPal and are subject to HST.

To be eligible for a full refund, cancellations must be made no less than 24 hours prior to the occupancy date. Late cancellations will not be eligible for a refund. Please contact info@juncyards.ca to cancel bookings. If a membership has expired or has been terminated, any bookings associated with the membership will be canceled and a refund will be provided.

 

Studio Policies & Procedures:

Studio space can be used for but not limited to – painting, multimedia, photography, sculpture, garment making and more. We strive to always provide a clean, safe environment for its members but make no special guarantees as to said studios functionality or suitability to members’ purposes.

 

Building Access:

Members will have 24/7 access to their studio. Members will be granted mobile access credentials through the Kisi App to gain access to the building with their mobile device. Members are not permitted to give access to other individuals with their mobile access credentials.

 

Security & Liability:

ArtYards is a shared studio space that encourages collaborative work. Each member is responsible for the security and safety of all their belongings in the space. The member is solely responsible for carrying their own liability insurance necessary to cover any and all costs due to possible loss, damage, or theft. ArtYards and its owners/managers accept no responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage to artwork or property belonging to a member.

Members in connection with ArtYards shall indemnify ArtYards and its owners/managers against all claims arising from any accident, injury, or damage whatsoever, however caused, to any person or to any property occurring during the membership term on or about the demised premises, and against all expenses, counsel fees, and liabilities incurred in connection with any such claim or any action or proceeding brought thereon.

 

Safety, Use & Conduct:

We require that all members respect and show proper usage of the facilities and equipment. It is the member’s responsibility to know and apply safety rules,  guidelines and procedures.

Members must be considerate and respectful of other occupants, their space, health, sanity, and property. Disruptive behavior such as loud music, excessive visitors, improper use of equipment, and failure to keep space clean will not be tolerated.

• No open flames at any time, including but not limited to candles, torches, and incense (except when otherwise approved).
• No toxic, harmful and strong odor chemicals other than paints may be used at any time (except when otherwise approved).
• No smoking or illegal drug use allowed anywhere inside the building.
• Subletting of the studio is not allowed.
• Visitors are permitted but we ask that you keep them to a minimum. Members are solely responsible for their visitors and they must remain under the member’s supervision.
• Members must pick up after themselves and/or their visitors when using the studio, especially in common areas. Dispose of trash, materials, and paints properly.
• Members must return all equipment, studio, and furniture in the condition it was provided and immediately notify ArtYards or JuncYards of any damage, failure, or change.
• Members are responsible for reimbursing ArtYards or JuncYards for any broken or damaged property caused by the member and/or member’s party.

 

By purchasing an ArtYards or JuncYards membership, the applicant acknowledges that he/she has read and agreed to all the terms, conditions, and agreements of becoming a member. ArtYards and JuncYards have the right to revoke the membership and/or studio rental contract of any member in violation of conduct or the agreement at any time.
